SYDNEY'S BASTILLE FESTIVAL RETURNS

The hugely popular Bastille Festival is set to return to Sydney this July, promising a four-day extravaganza brimming with French flair. The festival, which attracted a record-breaking 450,000 visitors in 2023, will take place around the picturesque Sydney Harbour, transforming Circular Quay and The Rocks into a giant French village.

This year's edition will boast an even grander scale, incorporating an "Olympic twist" in a nod to the upcoming Paris Olympics. Expect some sporting appeal alongside the festival's usual offerings of gourmet food, exquisite wines, and captivating art experiences.

Foodie Paradise and Wine Delights

Over 120 vendors will be on hand to tantalise taste buds with an estimated 10 tons of cheese and 10,000 litres of wine. The festival promises a journey through the best of French cuisine, with Sydney's top chefs showcasing classic dishes and contemporary takes on French favourites.

Five distinct "villages" will be scattered throughout the festival grounds, each offering a unique experience. Visitors can embark on a self-guided adventure, indulging in everything from sweet and savoury crepes to decadent melted cheese creations.

Wine lovers won't be disappointed either. Seventeen bars will be positioned around the festival, showcasing a diverse selection of French wines from renowned regions like Bordeaux, Burgundy, and the Loire Valley.

A Feast for All Senses

Beyond the culinary delights, the Bastille Festival boasts a vibrant program of over 100 free performances. Expect live music, captivating street art, fire performances, and even dance classes to keep festival-goers entertained.

Returning Favourites and New Experiences

Popular festival staples like Le Mulled Cinema, where attendees can enjoy classic French films under the stars with a glass of mulled wine, and the 1.4-kilometre wine-tasting tour will make a comeback this year. Additionally, the festival is introducing Food, Wine and Art masterclasses, led by Sydney's avant-garde culinary minds.

Free Entry and Festival Details

The Bastille Festival is free to attend and will run from Thursday, July 11th to Sunday, July 14th. The festival sprawls across multiple locations, including Circular Quay, The Rocks, Customs House, Quay Quarter Lanes, and the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
