LYTHGOE'S PANTOS RETURN: Debora Krizak as Wicked Queen in Snow White

Bonnie Lythgoe's pantomimes do feature often in this blog, mainly because they are so much fun. Now, after a five-year hiatus, Bonnie Lythgoe returns to celebrate a decade of bringing this theatrical tradition to Aussie audiences.

To mark the occasion, a brand new production of Snow White will be staged for a limited season at Riverside Theatres in Parramatta, kicking off on September 7th, 2024. Snow White holds a special place in Bonnie's heart, being the very first panto she introduced to Australia in 2014. This new production promises to charm audiences of all ages, from 3 to 103, with a fresh take on the classic fairytale.

Adding a touch of star power is the announcement of Debora Krizak as the show's dazzling villain, the Wicked Queen. Debora is much-loved in Australian musical theatre, having graced the stage in leading roles for over two decades. Her credits include The Producers, Anything Goes, and Mamma Mia!

"The beloved story of Snow White is a show for the whole family," says Bonnie Lythgoe. "It's known for its audience participation, humour, and of course, a good dose of booing the baddies! We can't wait to have audiences back, cheering and hissing along. And we're thrilled to have Debora Krizak join us as the ultimate pantomime villain."

True to form, a Bonnie Lythgoe pantomime guarantees a whirlwind of entertainment. Audiences can expect a vibrant mix of singing, dancing, and laugh-out-loud humour, all with a modern twist. The production will boast spectacular sets and costumes designed to transport audiences to a world of fairytales.

Lythgoe's previous pantomimes have been smash hits, both critically and commercially. Productions like Cinderella starring Jimmy Rees, Jack and the Beanstalk with Lucy Durack, and Aladdin featuring Beau Ryan, have all enjoyed sell-out success. The original Snow White, starring Magda Szubanski, Sir Cliff Richard, and Kyle Sandilands, remains a cherished memory for many.

Further casting announcements for Snow White are expected soon. Tickets are now on sale, with prices starting at $59.
