BARANGAROO'S CITY BEACH WELCOMES A UNIQUE FILM EXPERIENCE

MOV’IN BED, the newest addition to Sydney's outdoor cinema scene at Barangaroo, has made a solid debut with sold-out screenings during its opening weekend.

Distinctive for its location on Barangaroo's city beach, MOV’IN BED boasts the largest outdoor screen in the country, along with comfortable beds on the sand. The opening weekend featured three films—Wonka, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and The Beekeeper—setting the tone for a diverse three-month program that includes both new releases and classics until April 14th.

Vincent Fernandez, the founder and director of MOV’IN BED, expressed his excitement at the positive reception. "We've created a unique cinema experience on the city beach at Barangaroo, offering an outdoor cinematic experience with an emphasis on sound and visual quality,"

Guests enjoy a variety of films while sipping on coconuts, frozen cocktails, wine, and champagne. The cinematic experience is enhanced by bottomless popcorn, gourmet pizzas delivered by personal waiters, and glowing noise-cancelling immersive headphones.

Online, audience reactions on social media have ranged from describing the experience as "innovative" and "magical" to noting it as "Sydney’s outdoor cinema with a touch of luxury."  Many have shared their enjoyment of the "amazing moments" and "dreamy nights" in what some affectionately call "the cutest cinema ever."

The current week's lineup includes films such as the Golden Globe-winning animated feature The Boy and the Heron, Ridley Scott’s Napoleon starring Joaquin Phoenix, and the romantic comedy No Hard
Feelings
featuring Jennifer Lawrence. MOV’IN BED accommodates up to three people in its beds, with alternative seating options available on beach chairs or by bringing your own beach towels and picnic blankets.

As the season progresses, longer films like Killers of the Flower Moon will include intermissions, and special events are planned for sessions dedicated to both lovers and singles.
