Transporting us back to the tumultuous year of 1918 during the First World War, the musical unfolds the remarkable journey of a spirited group of trailblazing women who defied societal norms by turning the U.S. Army on its head. These female telephone operators, serving as bilingual operatives in France, became America's first women soldiers. However, their historic contributions went unrecognised for many years, setting the stage for the trailblazers of gender equality in today's armed forces.
Artistic Director of Heart Strings Theatre Co, Ylaria Rogers, shares her passion for "The Hello Girls," stating, "When I listened to The Hello Girls soundtrack, I knew it was our next show. It's a piece about women's history, which was completely erased by men. Strong, funny, and relevant, this piece feels like a call to arms to anyone who has ever felt left behind, forgotten, and unacknowledged for the part they play in this world. It shows that if we fight hard enough, we can change the course of history."

The Hello Girls premiered at The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre Centre on September 7, 2023, receiving acclaim for its compelling storytelling and stellar performances.
The cast, featuring talents such as Rhianna McCourt, Kira Leiva, Kaori Maeda-Judge, Nikola Gucciardo, Kaitlin Nihill, Alexis Van Maanen, Jessy Heath, Joel Hutchings, Matthew Hearne, David Hooley, Lincoln Elliot, Zach Selmes, and James Frampton, brings the characters to life with exceptional flair.
