O'CONNER JOINS MAUBOY, MORRISON, FOREMAN FOR NIGHT AT THE BARRACKS

Celebrated Australian artist Caroline O’Connor joins Jessica Mauboy, David Campbell, James Morrison, David Hobson, Lucy Durack, John Foreman and Aussie Pops Orchestra, Queensland Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and Australian Rock Collective for Night at the Barracks, North Head, Manly, Thursday 24 February through until Caroline's performance on Sunday 27 March 2022.

The Helpmann Award-winning, Olivier Award-nominated singer, dancer and actress joins the star-studded line-up ready to perform at The Barracks, Sydney’s newest outdoor venue. 

Caroline will perform My Musical Life, a look back through her career as Australia’s leading female triple-threat performer.  The show journeys through songs from Theatre shows in which Caroline has starred in Australia, West End, Paris and on Broadway including Chicago, West Side Story, Anything Goes, and the international hit film Moulin Rouge.

If 2021 has been a rebirth year for multi-ARIA award-winning singer-songwriter, actress, and Voice Coach Jessica Mauboy, 2022 will be her watershed one.  Making new music and continuing her role as a leader and disruptor, Jessica returns to the stage for the opening night of Night at The Barracks.  Her new show will read as an anthology of Jessica’s global smash hits since her first solo album in 2008. Jessica is a performer with serious acting chops and multiple accolades, an accomplished songwriter and piano player, with her own effervescent and incredibly engaging energy.

The legendary James Morrison, accompanied by his talented band promises to deliver an unforgettable and entertaining Motown experience.  This feel-good playlist includes four soulful voices, a pumping rhythm section and some smouldering horns lead by the incomparable James Morrison. Songs include hits from James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and all the Motown greats. 

DAVID CAMPBELL: BACK IN THE SWING

Australian ARIA award winner, singer and popular TV presenter, David Campbell is back and set to wow Night at The Barracks crowd with his acclaimed show 'Back in the Swing.’ Featuring Campbell’s silky vocals and his full band, 'Back In The Swing' blends together genres of swing, ballads and R&B from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel, with the Aussie singer’s own personal style. Notable songs include Come Fly With Me, For Once In My Life and Walkin’ My Baby Back Home.

James Morrison certainly is renowned as one of the finest jazz players Australia has ever produced. A rare and sensational night of brassy sounds as James is joined on stage by his big band.   Hear a swingin’ heap of big band classics made famous by greats such as Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Gershwin and, of course, Frank Sinatra.  An extraordinary celebration of swing.

THE BEATLES ‘LET IT BE’ ALBUM 50th ANNIVERSARY

Following two sold-out tours of The Beatles’ Abbey Road Live in 2019/20, The Australian Rock Collective (ARC) are returning in 2021 to present the final Beatles album in all its glory – Let It Be, marking the 50th Anniversary.  ARC, comprised of Kram (Spiderbait), Darren Middleton (Powderfinger) Mark Wilson (Jet) and Davey Lane (You Am I) are self-confessed Beatles tragics, playing Let It Be from start to finish – followed by a second set of favourites spanning the breadth of the Beatles’ catalogue.

"Australia's hottest tap dance sensation," The Tap Pack are bringing their high energy, tap comedy show to Night at The Barracks, conjuring a modern twist to the crooners and artists from the 50s through to the noughties.  Featuring songs from Sinatra, Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr to Sheeran, Bublé and Beyonce, The Tap Pack mix humour, high energy entertainment and world-class tap dance.   Armed with on-stage larrikinisms, they sing – they dance – they joke.  Dressed in slick suits and equipped with sharp wit, The Tap Pack is “old school cool” from the new kings of swing.

The 80s reimagined by John Foreman and the Aussie Pops Orchestra starring the amazing Tim Campbell and Bonnie Anderson.

Showcasing a vision of Queensland Ballet’s future, the gifted Jette Parker Young Artists will join featured Company dancers in breath-taking pieces including the energetic Don Quixote Wedding Pas de Deux, Greg Horsman’s classical masterpieces Raymonda Pas Classique and vibrant Bluebird Pas de Deux from The Sleeping Beauty and, a new contemporary work by Resident Choreographer Natalie Weir.

Car Parking and Travel:

The simplest way to get into the event site is to walk from Manly Wharf but the Producers recognise this isn’t always possible.  There will be limited parking available at St Pauls Catholic College Car Park, 124 Darley Road, Manly, for pre-booking with ticket purchase through Ticketmaster.  Where possible the Producers encourage people to use the shuttle bus service from Manly which needs to also be pre-booked through Ticketmaster. Please don't drive to the venue. There is no onsite parking
